Historically Black Colleges and Universities with Sport Sciences and Physical Education Programs
        Historically Black Colleges and Universities

The United States was founded on struggle--for independence, respect and freedom--and these values are central to the goals of our education system. After the Civil War, colleges with the specific mission to provide postsecondary opportunities for blacks in the US were founded and gave people the hope and knowledge to pursue their dreams. These institutions are known as historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), and there are still over 100 HBCUs in the United States today.

Admission to HBCUs is now open to all, but what hasn't changed is the commitment to world-class education based on core principles of inclusiveness, scholarship, diversity, leadership, service and empowerment. From public and private, four- and two-year institutions, HBCUs offer a wide array of options, including undergraduate and graduate programs in the same fields as other institutions--including sport sciences and physical education.

HBCUs not only offer a great education, they give you a chance to experience a part of our history that continues to shape our future. So if you're looking for a quality education in one of the fastest growing academic fields, consider the historically black colleges and universities with sport sciences and physical education programs today.
